For more than two decades, I’ve developed training tools, e-learning modules, and practice guides designed to help youth-serving professionals show up for LGBTQ+ young people with intention, skill, and love. These resources center lived experience, developmental science, and the belief that every young person deserves safety, belonging, and possibility.
These products have been used by schools, mentoring programs, child welfare systems, homeless service providers, and national organizations to build affirming spaces and stronger adult-youth relationships.
And now, many of them are being banned.
Under recent efforts by the Trump administration, content that affirms LGBTQ+ youth—including materials that use accurate language about identity, inclusion, and developmental relationships—is being targeted, censored, and restricted. Entire resources have been removed from federal website simply because they affirm that LGBTQ+ youth exist.
Let’s be clear: this censorship is political.
And it’s placing a generation of young people in harm’s way.
